Being Respectful at Reremoana School

Room 13 put our brains together to make a list of what Being Respectful looks like throughout the day at school.  This is what we came up with:

Being Respectful Towards Teachers
  • Follow the teacher’s instructions
  • Treat relievers how you’d treat your normal teacher
  • Listen to the teacher
  • Speak politely to teachers

Being Respectful in the Classroom
  • Clean up after yourself
  • Respect other people’s belongings
  • Walk around the room
  • Leave toys at home
  • Be careful with classroom materials
  • Look after your own stationery
  • Use the furniture properly

Being Respectful Towards Classmates
  • Speak politely to each other
  • Include others in your play
  • Treat your classmates the way you want to be treated
  • Help classmates when they are confused
  • Say only nice things about each other
  • Keep your hands to yourselves
  • If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all

Being Respectful with Equipment
  • Put things back where they belong
  • We do not throw classroom equipment around
  • Sharing is caring
  • Use equipment how it is meant to be used

Being Respectful in the Playground
  • Keep your hands to yourself
  • Include others in your games
  • Look after others if they get hurt
  • Speak politely to each other
  • Let others have a turn (sharing is caring)

Being Respectful towards our Friends
  • Include your friends in your games
  • Keep your hands to yourself
  • Speak calmly to your friends, there is no need to yell
  • Look after your friends
  • Encourage your friends

Acting Safely at our School

We've been learning about Acting Safely in different parts of our school.  We planned some short dramas to show what it looks like when we are Acting Safely, and when we are Not Acting Safely, around the school.
